Thomas Hall School Featured in the news!

Thomas Hall School has been featured in local news articles following the Government’s announcement of a £200 million national programme to enhance SEND and inclusion training for teachers. The initiative aims to strengthen early support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the country.

The programme will offer staff in nurseries, schools, colleges and post‑16 settings new training covering a broad range of needs — including speech and language difficulties, visual impairments and additional learning needs — while also supporting the use of assistive technology in classrooms.

Phil Arnold’s Reflections

Our Headteacher, Mr Phil Arnold, shared Thomas Hall School’s perspective with Exeter Today, highlighting our ongoing commitment to inclusive education and personalised support for every child. He emphasised that the additional training will strengthen the work already taking place within our school community.

“At Thomas Hall School, we are committed to ensuring that every child can reach their full potential. We recognise that some students may need additional support to thrive, and we work closely with families and external agencies to provide tailored help. Additional SEND and inclusion training for our staff would be extremely welcome, as it would further equip our team to identify needs early, respond effectively, and provide the best possible outcomes for our pupils.”

Mr Arnold also noted that investment in staff skills not only benefits pupils but enriches relationships with families and strengthens support across the wider school community. [themoorlander.co.uk]

A Positive Step for the Future

The upcoming programme aligns closely with our ethos at Thomas Hall School. We believe inclusion should be embedded in every classroom, ensuring all pupils feel supported, valued and empowered to achieve their best.

We look forward to taking part in this national initiative and continuing to champion high‑quality SEND provision for all our learners.
