Choosing how your child will be educated is one of the most important decisions that you will make as a parent. Therefore, at Thomas Hall School we celebrate each pupil’s individuality and deliver an educational journey from the age of 4 to 16 that promotes your child’s development, both academically and pastorally, to ensure confidence and ambition.
Our school site is located on a six and a half acre area on the ourskirts of Exeter, with some of the country's most unique and wonderful landscapes. We utilise this, and promote the STEAM curriculum, with a focus on developing our understanding of the environmental sciences, nature and the arts. We believe in the importance of providing an education that engages with the critical climate issues facing our society in the 21st Century and beyond. We are proud of our community's passion for sustainability and ensure we allow pupils time to connect with their surroundings.
Our philosophy is that education should provide each and every pupil with the core skills needed to achieve academic excellence through a diverse and rich programme of study that has holistic development at its core.
Through a vocabulary and knowledge rich curriculum, pupils engage with a variety of subjects to challenge and motivate them in their learning. To complement this, we take pride in our co-curricular enrichment, which includes sports and outdoor learning. Each child at Thomas Hall School will explore their own identity and work to develop their individual potential.

We work closely with parents and guardians to enhance aspirations for students and ensure that all children have the support they need to thrive at every stage of their school life.
Being located in an area of natural beauty allows our pupils to safely explore the world around them and grow in confidence and character as they do so. We have high expectations of our pupils, but we don’t want them to be afraid of failure – we understand that intellectual and personal growth are often the result of making mistakes and having the resilience to overcome challenges.
As a school, we pride ourselves on having a strong sense of community where everyone is welcomed. We provide an inspirational curriculum and develop exceptional teaching and learning to improve our provision. This is a fantastic time to join our school and become part of something special.
As part of the Reach South Academy Trust, Thomas Hall School pupils will work alongside their peers in schools across the South West to collaborate and engage with projects that will enable each individual to become a successful global citizen and flourish in a rapidly changing world. Our students go out into the world with a sense of purpose, as well as academic achievement, personal fulfilment and the desire to make a difference.
